Spain: Department stores

España

For large warehouses, proper lighting plays a vital role in daily operations. A well-lit environment not only facilitates accurate viewing of products and materials, but also improves safety by reducing the risk of accidents and errors. An effective lighting system helps maintain an orderly and shadow-free working environment, which is essential for employee productivity and well-being.

In this project, our Celux Lighting team designed a lighting system combining recessed spotlights and suspended luminaires, specifically adapted to the needs of department stores. The recessed spotlights were used to provide efficient spot lighting in key areas, while the suspended luminaires ensured an even distribution of light over wide areas, improving visibility throughout the space.

The lighting solution implemented in this project offers a number of significant advantages that optimise both the functionality and efficiency of the space. Firstly, the correct lighting ensures superior visibility in all areas of the warehouse, facilitating the handling of products and materials and improving accuracy in daily tasks. Efficient lighting not only helps to perform activities with greater accuracy, but also increases safety by providing a clear and uniform view throughout the environment, thus reducing the risk of accidents and errors.

In addition, the incorporation of LED technology in the lighting system results in a significant reduction in energy consumption. This energy efficiency translates into lower operating costs and contributes to a reduced ecological footprint, aligning with the sustainability goals of many modern businesses.

The flexibility of the design, which includes a combination of recessed spotlights and suspended luminaires, allows for precise customisation of the lighting system. This adaptability ensures that each area of the warehouse receives the right amount of light for its specific needs, optimising the working environment and improving the overall functionality of the space.

In summary, the lighting solution not only meets technical and operational requirements, but also brings significant improvements in visibility, safety, security, and energy efficiency, creating a safer and more efficient working environment for employees.

This new scheme incorporates a combination of recessed luminaires, recessed spotlights, wall lights and linear recessed luminaires, as well as track spotlights. Each luminaire type has been carefully selected to provide optimum lighting to suit the different functions and requirements of each area of the campus.

Recessed luminaires and spotlights have been used to illuminate specific spaces and provide direct, focused light in key areas such as libraries and study rooms. Wall sconces and linear recessed luminaires have been installed in corridors and common areas to create a warm and welcoming ambience. Track spotlights have been used to highlight architectural elements and areas of special interest within the campus.

The The implementation of this new lighting system not only contributes to a better aesthetic appearance of the campus, but also has a significant impact on the safety of students and staff. Adequate lighting improves visibility in all areas, reducing the risks associated with a lack of light and creating a safer and more functional environment during the academic day.

Furthermore, the LED technology used in this project offers additional benefits such as increased durability, lower energy consumption and reduced environmental impact. This upgrade not only represents an improvement in the university's energy efficiency, but also contributes to sustainability and reduced operating costs in the long term.

In summary, the lighting project for the María Zambrano University in Segovia has succeeded in transforming the campus into a more modern, efficient and safe space.
