For the lighting project carried out for the BMG Music offices in Madrid, the main objective was to design a lighting system that would not only enhance the aesthetics of the space, but also foster an inspiring and creative environment. At Celux Iluminación, we understand the importance of preserving and enhancing the historical and spiritual character of such buildings through carefully planned lighting design. In this lighting project for the Iglesia del Pinar in Chamartín, we have integrated solutions that respect the neo-gothic architecture while maximising the functionality and aesthetics of the space. The lighting of a church requires a delicate approach that takes into account both the natural light entering through the stained glass windows and the specific needs of the congregation during religious services. For this project, we opted for the installation of recessed spotlights and suspended linear luminaires. These luminaires not only blend harmoniously into the neo-gothic structure of the church, but also provide balanced lighting that enhances key architectural elements such as the arches, vaults and stained glass windows. The recessed spotlights have been strategically placed to illuminate the main altar and surrounding areas, highlighting the beauty of the ornamental details without dazzling parishioners. On the other hand, linear suspended luminaires provide uniform light throughout the nave and aisles, ensuring that every corner of the church is adequately illuminated without interfering with natural light. One of the most significant challenges in this project was to achieve a seamless integration between the natural light coming through the stained glass windows and the artificial lighting provided by the luminaires. The stained glass windows, depicting scenes from the life of Christ, are a central feature of the Pinar Church, and it was essential that the new lighting did not compete with their visual impact, but complemented it. At Celux Iluminación, we were honoured to have been selected to carry out this lighting project at the Iglesia del Carmen. Our approach focused on designing a solution that not only met the practical lighting needs, but also respected and enhanced the historic architecture of the building. To this end, we opted for the use of track spotlights, a versatile and modern solution that allows the most important architectural elements to be highlighted while providing uniform and pleasant illumination throughout the space. The main objective of this project was to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that would reflect the spiritual and communal character of the Carmelite Church. The new lighting had to be able to enhance the architectural features of the building, such as the arches, vaults and ornamental details, without detracting from the liturgical and ceremonial events taking place inside. In addition, a solution was sought that would be energy-efficient, durable and capable of integrating harmoniously with the existing design. The project To meet these objectives, our team of lighting experts designed a system based on track spotlights. These floodlights offer great flexibility, as they allow the direction and focus of the light to be adjusted according to the specific needs of each space within the church. This adjustability is particularly useful in an environment such as a church, where the lighting needs to adapt to different uses and times of day. The LED track spotlights used in this project provide powerful but soft lighting, capable of highlighting architectural details without causing glare or interfering with the natural light coming through the church's windows and stained glass. In addition, LED technology ensures greater durability and low energy consumption, contributing to the long-term sustainability of the church. The result of this project is interior lighting that completely transforms the atmosphere of the Iglesia del Carmen, making the space feel warmer and more welcoming. The track spotlights not only enhance the majesty of the building's neoclassical architecture, but also create an atmosphere that invites reflection and prayer. This combination of aesthetics and functionality is key to ensuring that the church remains a special place for the Torrelodones community. In addition, the energy efficiency of the LED lighting implemented significantly reduces the operating costs of the church, which is an additional benefit to the local community.
